In light of the recent queries regarding the resumption of training here is a reminder of the current situation, apologies to those that were unclear.
There is no Blackbrook Royals JRLFC sanctioned training until further notice.
Any group activities that may or may not being carried out, although permitted under government guidelines, are NOT sanctioned by the Blackbrook Royals Committee. Those involved in the sessions are NOT insured.
Whilst the ‘R’ rate was indeed a factor, there are several other matters that need to be taken into consideration .One clear factor is the schools and the situation they face with when they will it be safe to fully open for our children. The seriousness of the situation we find ourselves in is clear. A similar approach to ours is being taken by a large proportion of Junior Rugby League clubs in the North West and Yorkshire.
You may have seen that the Community Clubs in Warrington have forged links to give a Club wide position, a real show of unity at this uncertain time. This is something that our Borough Clubs through the St Helens RLFC Community Development Foundation are also considering.
A suitable date for review has been identified, Monday the 29th June 2020. This being three weeks to the day that the Government announced a return to small sided activity was permissible.
This will provide some breathing space in which to work towards a structured return. Time shall be spent ensuring that required documents are produced, collective decisions are agreed and supporting rationale is put in place evidencing why we as an Exec deem a return to be an option.
It also allows us to obtain a longer-term view on the infection rate data which can alter frequently and the bigger picture in terms of government and Rugby Football League guidance.
